God took control of President Goodluck Jonathan

How God used Jonathan to save Nigeria, by Obi
More facts have emerged on why President Goodluck Jonathan immediately accepted defeat during the last Presidential election.
Former Governor of Anambra State and the National Deputy Director General of the PDP National Campaign Council, Mr. Peter Obi, spoke at the weekend of how President Goodluck Jonathan immediately accepted defeat during the last Presidential election.
“God took control of President Goodluck Jonathan and gave him uncommon wisdom to take the outcome of the election as he did, thus preventing Nigeria from sliding into chaos,” Obi said.
Speaking during the Umuoji Youth Development Association’s award ceremony at Umuoji, Obi said Jonathan’s action would go a long way in entrenching democratic culture and values not just in Nigeria and Africa, but even beyond. He expressed optimism that history would sooner than later recognise Jonathan as one of the greatest Nigerians who insisted, against all odds, that the blood of any Nigerian was not worth spilling because of political ambition.

Reacting to the statement credited to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwam Akiolu, on the Igbo and balloting in Lagos, Obi said he was still in a state of unbelief and prayed it would turn out that the revered Oba was either misquoted or quoted out of context despite the gravity of the statement.
Obi said part of the fruits of Jonathan’s action was to teach Nigerians that in all circumstances, Nigeria must come first, a Nigeria devoid of ethnic parochialism.
Describing the statement as worrisome and regrettable, Obi described as unacceptable, a situation where a particular ethnic group was sent packing from the North because of election and are being threatened to pack out of the South West.

He urged the Oba to continue to be a father to all at all times.
