Vice President Sambo Calls El-Rufai
Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo yesterday called Malam Nasir El-Rufai to congratulate him for emerging victorious in last Saturday's Kaduna state governorship election.
El-Rufai's spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan who disclosed in a statement added that Governor Yero has also written an official congratulatory message to Malam El-Rufai. This comes after the governor's call on Sunday to concede victory to the APC candidate.
El-Rufai polled 1,117,635 to defeat the PDP's Yero who scored 485, 833. Yero
Sambo, according to Aruwan, wished El-Rufai a successful tenure in office and urged him to use his wealth of experience for the peace and development of Kaduna state and Nigeria at large.
Sambo further appealed to the citizens of the state to give maximum support and cooperation to Malam El-Rufai.
Sambo also tasked the incoming governor to work hard in taking the state to greater height.
Meanwhile, joyous scenes continue at the campaign office of the new governor-elect of Kaduna State. Crowds of party members and supporters continued the dancing and singing into the second day while El-Rufai receives visits from prominent Nigerians. At the office yesterday were businessman Hakeem Bello-Osagie,and Pulitzer Prize winner Dele Olojede.
