Missing $20bn NNPC faults Sanusi’s latest claims

Emir of Kano suspends airline from airlifting pilgrims back to Nigeria

The Amirul Hajj and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi, has suspended FlyNas Airline from airlifting Kaduna pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Media Team, Ibraheem Musa, in Kaduna, Kaduna State, on Thursday.

The statement recalled that FlyNas operations have been epileptic as the airline had many times kept Kaduna pilgrims waiting either at the airport or hotels since the airlift commenced about three weeks ago.

To this end, the statement quoted the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir el-Rufai on Interfaith and a member of Kaduna State delegation to hajj, Namadi Musa, as saying that Top Bras and Dornier airlines have commenced the airlift of Kaduna pilgrims.

Musa further said that Alhaji Sanusi pleaded with Kaduna pilgrims on Wednesday night when FlyNas allegedly failed to airlift some pilgrims after waiting for about two days.

According to him, the emir took the decision to suspend FlyNas so as to ameliorate the sufferings of the pilgrims and fast track the airlift back to Nigeria.
