A Statement on the pro-Biafra movement
. Having listened to the station(Radio Biafra) myself and read a bit of the history and the story of the Nigeria and Biara war, I think something is missing, that thing is reparation. Nigeria government must understand the need not to try to sweep the history under the rug, the entire history should be a subject of national dicourse or debate, the Biafrans should be asked to have a refrendum on whether to stay in Nigeria or not, you might discover that the people of Biafra may decide to remain in Nigeria or leave. Nigerian government must stop dancing around the argument that millions were possibly starved to death during that war, you don't use starvation to kill a race and then try to make that same people coexist with you in nationhood just like that, this happens only when injustice is addmitted by Nigeria and reparations made to the Biafrans and apologies given, only then can true nationhood continue. Nigerian government should introduce into their school system the study of the civil war and setting up of meseums for remembering of those who lost their lives on both sides and due respect given to the dead. That is how true nationhood is achieved.
