These were the words of the Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University, Professor Mohammed Sani Yahya, who was recently accused of giving N200 million TETfund to the immediate past Acting Governor of the state, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi, to secure the seat of the VC of the institution.

Denying the allegation in an exclusive interview with The Guardian Campusnews in Jalingo, the VC felt sad at the way and manner rumour peddlers go about disseminating false information to the public. According to him: “It was a lie, you know our people with rumour mongering, it was on social media and not in any recognised national papers.

I also heard it as you heard it, too, that I gave the former Acting Governor N200 million as a parting gift from the TETFund money. “Anybody that is conversant with the operation of TETfund will just laugh at them and will never believe such rumour, because TETfund money is not even kept in TETfund office in Abuja or Taraba State University here in Jalingo.

TETfund money is in the Central Bank, all the institutions work with papers and at the end of the transaction, the money goes to the contractors directly through e-payment,” he noted.

The VC who reiterated his readiness to continue to take the institution to greater height, wants persons to always cross check their facts before posting them in social media
