BREAKING NEWS
Court Sacks Makarfi As PDP Chairman
The leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, deepened on Thursday, as the Federal High Court in Abuja, sacked the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee of the party.
The court, in a ruling by Justice Okon Abang, held that every action the Committee had taken since it emerged through a convention the party purportedly held in Port Harcourt on May 21, amounted to a nullity.
“Parties have an uncompromising duty to obey court order until it is set aside. The Lagos Division made orders on May 12 and 20, forbidding the PDP from removing the Sheriff-led Caretaker Committee. That order is still subsisting.
“Having regard to the order of the court, PDP had no lawful authority to hold the convention that led to the emergence of the Markafi-led Committee.
“The convention was unlawfully held and the Caretaker Committee was unlawfully and illegally appointed and could not take any legal decision for the PDP in view of the subsisting order of the Lagos Division of this court.
“Consequently, any action taken by the Markafi-led Committee, including the purported mandate for legal representation in this matter is hereby declared illegal.
“If the Markafi-led Caretaker Committee, as apostles of impunity, missed their way to the Port Harcourt division of this court, that court could not have conveniently assumed jurisdiction to set aside the earlier decision of the Lagos Division.
“I hold that the Port Harcourt division of this court cannot make an order to neutralise the potency of the Lagos Division of this court dated 12 and 20 May“.
Justice Abang said he would have voided the judgment of the Port Harcourt Division for being a nullity, assuming there was an application to that effect.
He warned politicians not to cause disaffection among judges of the High Court, saying “the culture of impunity must stop in this country”.
“Ali Modu Sheriff is the National Chairman of the PDP. Any decision not taken by the Sheriff-led Committee is not binding on the PDP”.

Imo North Senatorial Re-run Election: INEC Announced Wrong Result – PDP

The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Government in Imo State of manipulating the outcome of the Imo North Senatorial Re-run Election that took place on Saturday July 23, 2016.

The Party in a statement on Thursday, July 28, 2016 by its Spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said the Result announced by the INEC Returning Officer in the State before declaring it inconclusive, was false and unfounded.

“We had earlier warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo state to remain an unbiased umpire and maintain neutrality in all elections in Nigeria but we were taken aback by the resultannounced by the Returning Officer in Imo State which was completely false compared to the polling-unit by polling-unit collation done by our Party agents and certified by INEC officials during the Re-run election”. Prince Adeyeye said.

The Party has written the INEC Chairman and presented Certified True Copies of the undeclared unit-by-unit results as collated during the pollsinsisting that what INEC declared was untrue and does not reflect the true position of the outcome of the Election.

“We wish to call on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to immediately address the injustice done to our Party and our Candidate, Mr. Athan Achonu and declare him Winner of the Imo North Re-run Election. With available resultsas certified by INEC Collation Centers at various levels in Imo North Senatorial District, PDP’s Candidate is leading the APC with over 6,000 votes and Won 5 out of the 6 Local Government Areas in the Senatorial District “.

For the avoidance of doubt, attached is the Certified True Copy of the overall Result as collated at the Zonal Collation Center.

The Party believes that since the bye-election is holding today, Thursday, 28 July, 2016in Imo State and collation still ongoing, INEC has no excuse but to declare the authentic result as collated and certified.

Concluding, Prince Adeyeye urged its members, teaming supporters and the electorates of the PDP in Imo North Senatorial District and Imo State in general to remain calm and law abiding while the Party awaits final decision from INEC.

Prince Dayo Adeyeye

NIGERIA'S THIRD MAHDI AND THE LAST OF THE AMALEKITE KINGS
Forgive me for my curious silence over the last few months but this was due to circumstances beyond my control.
As you know I was locked up in President Buhari's gulag and I was not allowed to write from there.
Needless to say I missed all my readers. I have chosen to share my views about our nation today because I am aware of the fact that President Buhari has not finished with me yet and I may be picked up and thrown into detention on other trumped up charges very soon. This government will do and say anything to silence my voice but they shall not prevail.
Whatever the case my safety, life and future lies in the hands of God and not theirs. Despite the obvious dangers and various warnings that I have received from both my persecutors and well-wishers I shall continue to write as long as God gives me life and liberty.
It is not what happens to me that matters but rather what happens to Nigeria and the millions of ordinary people that are suffering in our country from the daily oppression of our modern-day slave masters. That aside, permit me to share my views.
A couple of weeks ago a 73 year old Christian grandmother was beheaded in Kano because she asked some muslims to stop washing their feet in front of her door before their prayers.
A few days later a female pastor of the Redeemed Church of God was hacked to pieces by a mob of muslims in the Kubwa district of Abuja simply for doing her morning cry of evangelism and urging the people to give their lives to Christ.
Not too long after that two hundred muslim youths burnt down a Catholic Church and attacked worshippers in Niger state claiming that they had no right to go to church on a friday because it was the muslim day of worship.
A few days later a Christian traditional ruler in Plateau state was matcheted to death by a group of Muslim militants and Fulani herdsmen.
Such attacks are now common place in our country and they are no longer isolated events.
Worse still cases of institutional racism and religious bigotry are on the rise because our government appears to be encouraging it. Permit me to share one example.
During my prolonged detention at the EFCC a group of cell mates were conducting an all night christian prayer. All of a sudden the cell guards burst in and screamed at them saying that this "nonsense" must stop and they must go to sleep immediately.
The inmates complied sheepishly out of fear and the prayers stopped. It was one a.m. in the morning. I was in the opposite set of cells but I heard all the noise and warnings of the guards.
I sent for one of them and I asked him why he stopped the inmates from doing an all night prayer. His response was that that was efcc policy because the prayers were too loud and they may be planning an escape. I told him that all he had to do was to ask them to lower their voices.
And that God and prayer was all they had. I also told him that if the inmates that were praying
were muslims he would not have ordered them to stop. He stormed off in anger.
The efcc has become a tool of oppression in the hands of the core muslim north who are using it to crush dissent and silence the opposition.
This assertion is confirmed by the fact that 98 per cent of those that are detained be the efcc for 2 days or more are southerners and middle belters whilst 98 per cent of those that run the agency at the top are from the core muslim north.
Worse still the lingua franca of the agency is hausa whilst the overwhelming majority of detainees are christians both in Lagos and Abuja. Core northern detainees are treated like royalty whilst Middle Belt and southern inmates are treated like filth.
Just as the Nigerian military was an institution that was designed and used to suppress and intimidate all the so-called lesser ethnic groups in Nigeria between july 29th 1966 and May 29th 1999 so it is with the EFCC today.
That is how emboldened the hegemonists in our midst have become and that is the level of barbarity that we have descended to as a nation.
Yet it gets even worse. Just a few weeks ago, the Minister of Internal Affairs told a bewildered nation that the Sultan of Sokoto (the leader if rhe Muslim community in Nigeria) "directed" him to declare a particular day of the week a public holiday. Without any hesitation he complied with despatch and, with pride, he announced it to the public. Welcome to the Islamic Republic of Nigeria where the caliphate rules.
Is it any wonder that every single one of the numerous security and intelligence agencies in our country except for one is headed by a northerner?
Whether it be the army, the navy, the air force, the police, the Department of State Security (DSS), the EFCC, the National Securiry A'dvisor's Office or the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), they are all headed by individuals that are from the north.
The only exception to the rule is the Nigerian Iintelligence Agency (NIA), the agency which is responsible for external intelligence and international espionage and which is headed by a southerner.
Can such a state of affairs be justified under any circumstances? Are southerners and Chrustians not Nigerians as well? Are they not qualified to head more security agencies?
Does the concept of Federal Character have any meaning in President Buhari's Nigeria? For how much longer will our people tolerate such reckless impunity, racism and injustice from those who believe that they are the Boers and supremacists of what is fast turning into apartheid-Nigeria?
My father's generation fought the battle for independence from our erstwhile British colonial masters.
It was indeed my father, Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode, that succesfully moved the motion for Nigeria's indepence in Parliament in 1958.
The battle that must be fought today by my genertion is the battle for independence from the sons of Futa Jalon: our internal colonial masters who are relentless in their quest to subjugate and enslave others and who believe that they were born to rule.
This quest for expansion and domination and this insatiable desire to islamise our nation is best reflected by the words and actions of the three Mahdis of the north.
The first was Usman Dan Fodio, the second was his great grandson Sir Ahmadu Bello and the third is Muhammadu Buhari. The hegemonists must be stopped. It is our duty to either restructure or break Nigeria and to ensure that Buhari is the last of the northern Mahdis through a peaceful and democratic process.
Consequently the prayer is no longer "God bless Nigeria" but rather "God break Nigeria". It is no longer "God defend Nigeria" but rather "God restructure Nigeria". It is no longer "God deliver Nigeria" but rather "God deliver us from Nigeria".
It is no longer "God preserve Nigeria" but rather "God redefine Nigeria". It is no longer "God remember Nigeria" but rather "God dismember Nigeria".
We must break our chains of oppression because no one else will break them for us. We must reject slavery. We must rise up and resist our oppressors.
We must break the yoke of servitude and set ourselves free. For this great cause no price is too high to pay. If it means laying down our lives or suffering the bitter pain of persecution then so be it.
No price is too high to pay and no mounatain is too high to climb for attainment of freedom and the restoration of our self respect and collective dignity. No matter what it takes we shall carve out and build our own nation and we shall be free.
The heavy yoke of the last of the Amalekite kings must be broken. The rulership of the third and last Mahdi must be brought to an end in a free and fair election. That is the challenge that we face today.
That is the great work that the Lord would have us complete. That is our duty and our calling: to bring the unbelieving pagans to heel and to pull down the evil structures of caliphate power.
Those that joined forces with the internal colonial masters and helped to enslave their own people shall pay a heavy price for their treachery, collaboration and betrayal.
Our new nation has no room for such people. They will be herded into labour camps and ultimately deported. They are a shameful eyesore: animals with no sense of dignity and pride. They are not fit to live amongst us.
Yet blessed are the courageous and faithful who speak nothing but truth, who despise the oppressor and who champion the cause of the oppressed. They shall flourish like the palm tree in season and their seed shall excel.
Blessed are those that are persecuted for their faith and that are regarded as the "hewers of the wood and the drawers of the water": so-called ethnic inferiors in their own nation.
They shall inherit the land and, in the fullness of time, they shall be liberated from their tormentors and they shall rule over their adversaries.
That is the promise of the Alpha and the Omega and the Ancient of Days. That is a sure word from He that is known as the Lord God of Hosts and the Man of War. That is the counsel of the God of All Flesh: the Adonai, the Elohim and Jehova El Shaddai. None can resist Him.
APC Governors Meet Buhari, Resolve To Seek Ekweremadu’s Removal
State governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have resolved to do all within their powers to ensure that Senator Ike Ekweremadu is removed as the Deputy President of the Senate.
Our correspondent learnt that this was the fallout of the two-hour meeting the governors had with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
The Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, had initially told State House correspondents at the end of the meeting that the governors had decided to intervene in the crisis in the National Assembly, without giving details of their intervention.
But a source at the meeting told one of our correspondents that the consensus at the meeting was that it was an aberration for Ekweremadu, who is a Senator from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, to continue in office as Deputy President of the Senate.
The source stated, “The governors sympathised with the President (Buhari) for working with a National Assembly that is largely seen as unfriendly.
“Particularly, they observed that in the absence of the President of the Senate, the next person is his deputy. They therefore agreed that it was an anomalous situation for a PDP person to continue as the Deputy President of the Senate.
“They sought and got the President’s permission to intervene in the matter in their own way.
“They argued that the truth of the matter is that rarely is there any Senator that emerged without the backing of their governors, hence the governors have some levels of influence on the federal lawmakers.”
Okorocha had, on Monday, said Ekweremadu should get ready to vacate his seat as the Deputy Senate President.
Okorocha had added that a candidate of the APC, Benjamin Uwajumogu, who contested in the last Saturday’s rerun senatorial election in Imo State, would displace Ekweremadu as soon as he joined the Senate.
The governor had said, “The position of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President is at the moment under heavy threat because in no distant time, the APC senator-in-waiting from Imo State, Benjamin Uwajumogu, will take over the seat on the grounds that it is an aberration that a PDP senator from the South-East is deputy to an APC Senate President because, before now, APC could not produce a Senator from the South-East zone.”
Our correspondent further learnt that Buhari at the meeting approved the release of N2bn each to all APC states.
Another source, who attended the meeting, said the decision was based on what happened during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The source claimed that Jonathan had, before leaving office, released N2bn each to the PDP states at the time from the Ecological Fund.
He was alleged to have exempted APC states and PDP states, whose governors were at loggerheads with him, from the gesture.
“That issue was brought to the President’s attention and he has ordered the release of N2bn each to the APC states that did not benefit during Jonathan’s administration,” the source said.
To further cushion the effects of the downturn in economy on the states, Buhari was also said to have, during the meeting, approved that 50 per cent of money spent by states on federal roads be released to them.
Okorocha had, while briefing State House correspondents after the governors’ meeting with Buhari, said the state governors from the ruling party were concerned about the incessant happenings in the National Assembly and had resolved to look into the matter.
The two chambers of the National Assembly have continued to witness crisis since inception following the emergence of leaders, who were not the preferred candidates of the ruling party, the APC.
Crisis is currently brewing in the House of Representatives following an allegation by a former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, who accused the leadership of the House of padding the 2016 budget to the tune of N40bn.
Okorocha added, “We have come to reassure Mr. President that the APC governors are solidly behind him in his fight against corruption; his fight against insurgents and all his laudable projects.
“We are concerned about the incessant happenings in the National Assembly and we have taken it upon ourselves to look into the matter; that is the crisis in the National Assembly.
“We are going to look into the matter because we need a strong and vibrant National Assembly to make things move fast in the country.”
Okorocha defended the recent decision of the Nigeria Governors Forum for six state governors to travel to Germany for what they called “vocational training.”
“There is nothing like jamboree trip. We are going to Germany because we cannot do everything here without exchanging ideas. Everything you do in your home and your business, you share ideas.
“So, we want to see how they have done what they have done to succeed. It is the aspiration of Nigeria to be like other countries of the world,” he said.
When asked if the trip would be funded by states, some of who owed workers’ salaries, Okorocha responded, “So, who will fund it, you!?”
Despite the continued hardship in the states, the governor stated that a lot of improvement had been recorded in some states.
He noted that what the states were getting from the Federation Account was close to what they were collecting when crude oil was selling above $100 per barrel.
Other governors, who attended the meeting, included those of Kaduna, Kwara, Zamfara, Benue, Kano, Sokoto, Plateau, Niger, Ogun, Borno, Osun, Edo, Kogi, Adamawa, Nasarawa and Kebbi.
The meeting was also attended by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; and the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, among others.
Ekeweremadu, however, declined to speak on the plans being hatched by the APC governors to remove him as the Deputy Senate President.
One of his aides, who was contacted by one of our correspondents on Tuesday night, said he had no comments until he was well informed on the matter.

Imo North Re-run: No Electoral Violence – CP
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu said there was no electoral violence during the Imo North Senatorial poll.
Lakanu, who stated this yesterday in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Andrew Enwerem, however, admitted that there were minor skirmishes by overzealous party supporters which the police was able to quell.
He said the proactive steps taken by the state command ensured that there was no loss of life during the poll in the six local government areas that make up the senatorial zone.
The CP advised aggrieved candidates shouldto channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities rather than incite their supporters to destabilize the peace of the state.
According to him, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Force Operations, Mr. Joshak Habila and his team from force headquarters were also on ground to supervise the election.
Lakanu said he patrolled the six local governments in the senatorial district with the DIG and his team day and night to ensure smooth conduct of the election.
He disclosed that the same measure would also be adopted in the supplementary .
Monetary Policy Committee( MPC) Moderated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has just concluded its quarterly meeting today, with the following decisions:
1. Increased the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR ) by 200bps from 12.0% to 14.0%
2. Retained asymmetric corridor at +200bps and -500bps around the MPR
3. Retained the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) at 22.5%
4. Maintained the Liquidity Ratio at 30%
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Engineer Elias Nwalem Mbam as Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC.
Buhari also approved the appointment of Dr. (Mrs) Marilyn Amobi as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, on Tuesday.

RT. HON. BENJAMIN UWAJUMOGU
CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION
ATT: IMO NORTH SENATORIAL RE-RUN
Our attention has been drawn to a potpourri of cynical, contrived and jaundiced reports, being prominently sponsored in the various platforms of the media by some select members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, regarding the outcome of last Saturday's Imo North senatorial re-run election between Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu of the APC and his PDP counterpart, Chief Athan Achonu.
In some of the mendacious reports, PDP chieftains like its defeated governorship candidate in the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state, Emeka Ihedioha, was alleged to have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to return the PDP candidate as the winner of the yet-to-be concluded election, citing negative conspiracy by the ruling APC to thwart what he called the 'wishes' of the people.
As a focused campaign organization, it might be out of place to dignify Ihedioha and his co-travelers with a comment, going by the fact that they are still leaking the sour taste of defeat encountered during last year's gubernatorial election in the state.
It is highly unconscionable and a total slap on the sensibility of Ndi-Okigwe zone for the Ihedioha’s faction of the PDP, in their defeatist mentality, to condemn one the most peaceful and credible elections ever conducted in the history of the country. With the transparent process of the entire exercise, the party can now see what it takes for the wishes of the masses to be respected.
Ihedioha and his defeated cohorts must be reminded that Okigwe zone collectively voted CHANGE from impunity to real respect and regard for the rule of law, as well as from under-development to rapid zonal development. He must be told in unequivocal terms that Okigwe is never Mbaise where three local government areas wanted to outnumber the entire Imo state.
Maybe they have forgotten, Okigwe people voted for historic change, over "wawa dominance" and light over darkness, as can be seen in the numerous life-changing infrastructures and amenities, attracted by the Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu's four year speakership stint at the Imo state House of Assembly.
For want of clarification, some of them include: over 15kms of rural roads in each of the six LGAs that make up the zone. The Okigwe urban renewal project, Obowo Malaysian International market, general hospitals and a stadium. Others are: the Imo state College of Education, Ihitte-Uboma, Imo state Polytechnic, Umunakanu, Ehime Mbano, plus employments, scholarships and empowerment skills to youths too numerous to mention.
With these laudable achievements to the credit of the former Imo Assembly Speaker to his people, we now ask: what is Emeka Ihedioha's shameless stake in Okigwe zone? Has he suddenly remembered Okigwe people shortly after squandering a respected office such as the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, which is number six in the order of protocol in the country?
Ihedioha and PDP must know that we're keeping quiet does not necessarily mean that we did not discover their attempts to rig the election, which was resisted by the people. For their information, all the 15 electoral booths cancelled by INEC, are domiciled mostly in the strongholds of the APC.
If there is any atom of truth in their beer parlor comments regarding manipulations in the election, why was the humongous number of votes clandestinely padded by Achonu and his undemocratic agents in Ehime Mbano wilfully accepted by INEC despite stiff opposition by our party agents?
Did Ihedioha and his beleaguered PDP also know that teargas canisters was fired at our candidate at the zonal collation centre at Okigwe by the security agents while trying to gain access to the centre which incidentally played host to his opponent, Athan Achonu?
These are pertinent questions the people who are afraid of defeat should find answers to before jumping into making sweeping and baseless statements.
They have continued to whip up public sentiments, while throwing tantrums on the electoral umpire for discharging its duties without fear or favour. If INEC was biased as they make us believe, it should have declared the APC candidate winner in line with the clear margin of lead, which is reminiscent to the Abia North re-run and Bayelsa guber respectively.
For the bookmakers, the supplementary election scheduled for Thursday, 28 July in the affected 15 polling units is yet another test case which will afford the political doubting Thomases the opportunity to come forward, monitor and get the first hand information of who is actually on ground and who is not.
The moment these harbingers of falsehood know that Okigwe zone has moved on in their collective affirmation of the Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu to represent them in the Senate, the better for them.

GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA SAYS IKE EKWEREMADU’S SEAT AS DEPUTY SENATE PRESIDENT IS UNDER THREAT
- Berates Him For Relocating To Owerri For Last Saturdays Re-Run Poll

The Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha Sunday night organized a victory party for members and leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state to celebrate the outcome of the Saturday, July 23, 2016 re-run election for Okigwe zone senatorial seat and the two state constituencies of Oru-East and Oru-West.

In his speech at the victory party, Governor Okorocha made the following remarks:-

1) That, the position of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate president is at the moment under heavy threat because in no distant time the APC Senator in the waiting from Imo State Benjamine Uwajumogu will take over the seat on ground that it is an aberration that a PDP senator from the South-East is deputy to an APC Senate President because, before now, APC could not produce a senator from the South-East zone.

2) That, Senator Ekweremadu had known that such development was not only feasible but inevitable and that was why he fully funded the candidate of the PDP in the re-run senatorial poll in Okigwe zone and also re-located to the state three days to the election date.

3) That, the victory of the APC in the re-run poll for Okigwe senatorial zone is a victory for the whole of South-East APC in particular and the people of the geo-political zone in general.

4) That, all the National Assembly members from the state on the platform of PDP should be re-called to come and face proper election because none of them won election but they used their federal might and the security agencies to write results for themselves in the 2015 election. And now that sanity has been restored they should be made to come and face real election.

5) That, the PDP in the state had never won any election since 2003, but had written results for themselves using intimidation and harassment to achieve their goal of producing results and forcing INEC to declare them winners on the basis of the false results.

6) That, it appears it has become part of the political culture of the state that every election in the state must be declared inconclusive, otherwise there was no way the Saturday’s election could have been declared inconclusive because of one ward (Osuachara) out of the sixty four wards in the Okigwe senatorial zone and with the APC candidate, Benjamine Uwajumogu leading his rival with more than eight thousand votes.

7) That, with the kind of victory the APC candidates recorded in the two state constituencies of Oru-East and Owerri-West where the re-run poll also took place last Saturday, it won’t be news any longer that APC is grounded in every ward in the state.

8) That, the last Saturday’s re-run election in the affected areas only dramatized the new spirit of APC in the state. And that, from now henceforth, elections in the state must be free and fair.

He once again thanked Imo people for believing in APC.

PRESS RELEASE
The attention of the Imo State Police Command has been drawn to unfounded rumors being circulated as the reason for the declaration of the last Imo North Senatorial election inconclusive.
The State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that there were minor skirmishes associated with overzealous party supporters in some areas.
The election was peaceful and well coordinated by the highly proactive and tireless Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Taiwo Lakanu. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Joshak Habila incharge Force Operations Department and his team from Force Headquarters, Abuja were also on ground to supervise the peaceful process of the election.
The DIG Operations and his team in company of the Commissioner of Police, Imo State patrolled the six Local Government Areas of Imo North Senatorial district day and night. High presence of Police personnel drawn from Imo State Command and other states dominated the entire area and ensured that there was no loss of life and destruction of property.
The State Police Command therefore warns any attempt by any group to undermine the peaceful process of the election and engage in Acts capable of truncating the hard earned peace and security of the State will be met with stiff resistance. Aggrieved candidates are advised to channel their grievances through the appropriate authorities as prescribed by the Electoral Act.

  NDA releases list of demands.

The new face of Niger Delta agitators have stated what they want including an equitable redistribution of oil resources. Nnamdi Kanu was on their list too.
This news house has obtained an intact copy of the demands by the new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, and what they want the Buhari led administration to do before they cease all hostilities with the government.
In a statement released by its spokesperson, Col. Mudoch Agbinibo, they list 11 demands the federal government must fulfill. Below is the full text:
“We are a group of young Niger Deltans who have support from other parts of Nigeria, namely Northern, Western and Eastern part of the Country.
“We have watched with keen interest, the way and manner in which the president Muhammadu Buhari Led APC government runs the affairs of this country, and we not pleased with the way things are going. For instance, the so-called anti-corruption fight is directed towards perceived enemies of the government, and those that are sympathetic to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
“We wonder why this persecution, despite the peaceful manner Jonathan handed over government to All Progressive Congress, APC. When they did not even the win the 2015 election because he was after lives of Nigerians as he saw that the APC is blood tasty.
“So far the only two governorship elections that were conducted under this government were and still remain the most controversial elections in the history of this nation.
“The 2016 budget that was presented to the national assembly is full of fraud, yet nobody has owned up to the frauds spotted in the budget by Nigerians and the national assembly.
“The president has not deemed it fit to expose and prosecute those that are behind these frauds and punish them accordingly, because he is neck dip in these frauds. What kind of anti-corrupt fight is this?
“This is the time Nigerians need to say the truth and stand by it. There must be a revolution to deliver this country from the hands of this wicked administration now. Imagine all the appointees to the president are all his relations eg DSS, Customs, INEC, and so on. We can no longer continue like this. There is a serious and biting hunger in the land. So many persons have lost their jobs under this Buhari led administration, while his wife and children party by the day in Aso Rock Villa.
“Therefore, we have chosen to start this revolution to free our country from these vampires and the APC led government. We are hereby giving president Buhari two weeks ultimatum to do the following things urgently.
  1. Immediate implementation of the report of the 2014 National Conference. Otherwise, this country will break-up forcefully.
  2. President Buhari, the DSS, SSS and Timipre Sylva should apologize to the people of the Niger Delta region and family of Late Chief DSP Alamieyesegha for killing him with intimidation and harassment because of his party affiliation.
  3. The ownership of oil blocks must reflect 60% for the oil producing people and 40% for the non-oil producing people.
  4. The only Nigerian Maritime University sited in the most appropriate and befitting place Okerenkoko must start the 2015/2016 academic session immediately.
  5. The minister of transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, should apologize to the Ijaws and the entire Niger Delta people for his careless and reckless statement about the siting of the University.
  6. The Ogoni land and indeed ll oil polluted lands in the Niger Delta must be cleaned up and compensation be paid to all oil producing communities.
  7. Mr Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of IPOB, must be released unconditionally as the court said.
  8. The Niger Delta Amnesty program must be well funded and allowed to run effectively.
  9. All APC members that are indicted in any corruption related cases should be made to face trial like the PDP members. Otherwise Buhari should shamefully forget about his nonsense anti-corruption fight.
  10. All oil multi-nationals and foreign investors should observe this ultimatum, as their business interest in the country must be first target.
  11. A word is enough for the wise.

Dino Melaye opens up:
What transpired between Senator Tinubu and I On July 14, Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, has clarified what transpired during the closed-door session of the Senate on Tuesday, which led to shouting match between him and Senator Oluremi Tinubu Melaye, made this known during a press briefing. Read his statement below: It is my sincere pleasure to address you this morning. It wouldn’t have been necessary to address you on the subject matter am about to address you on but it has become expedient that despite the fact what I am addressing you transpired in the executive session of the senate but because of the misinformation by people of inundinate ambition out there. It has not only become expedient but it has become very, very paramount that I address you on this subject matter. On Tuesday, the 12th of July, we had an executive session to discuss basically on the issue of forgery case in court and when I stood up to address and I want to say that on my honour as a christian on my honour as a father and on the oath of my office as a senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria I am telling you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have never being a coward, I will not start an apprenticeship programme now on how to become a coward. Whatever I say anywhere I can boldly repeat everywhere. When I stood up and I made my submissions that day in the senate, all I did was to pacify my colleagues and asked that the case in court be withdrawn because already there is a resolution of the senate that the rules of the senate were not forged and since there was a resolution of the senate that the rules of the senate were not forged then I said all those who have gone to court should go and withdraw their names from court and that if at the end of the day those who refused to withdraw their names from court we should penalised them by suspending them, I said that. MelayeBut I did not use any insolent abusive degrading or mannerless language. So there was no reaction from any of our colleagues as regards my presentation. After I spoke so many other senators spoke and I did not mention the name of any senators while I was making my presentation, unfortunately senator Oluremi Tinubu got up and was recognised to speak and immediately she started speaking she specifically mentioned my name even when in my presentation I did not mention anybody names I only appeal to the sensitivity of my colleagues and asked them to withdraw their case from court and reminded them already that there was a resolution of the senate that the rules were not forged. But because of reasons only known to senator Oluremi Tinubu she got up the first thing she said was that she’s being harrassed in this chamber by senator Melaye. I kept quite at that point, she went ahead to say that why will he come here and be threathening senators and there was a large chorus from senators how, when, where, senators reacted. At that point I was still very calm, she got up again and said that this thug must be tamed at that point I got up and I told her that she is very stupid. The next statement from her is that you are a dog. She called me a dog and when she called me a dog I stood up and I reacted and I told her that this is not Bourdillon and that she should look at my face, I am not one of those senators who normally come to prostrate to them in Bourdillon. And I told her I am from Kogi State, I am not from Lagos State and that there would never be a day that I will come to you for political assistance. This were my words and she went on shouting dog, thug. I want to tell you gentlemen of the press for every reaction there must be an action. When I got up to address my colleagues she was not the only senators there. If I had used insolent language or foul languages you will know the type of senators we have they would have reacted and some of them would have even addressed you guys by now to say Dino insulted us. But because she acted in the manner she did not one seantor stood up in her defence when I was tongue lashing her. Even the senators from Lagos was there, Ashafa was there he didn’t stand up fro his seat. It is not true that anybody circled her because there was no need to. I did not leave the spot where I was sitting I didn’t get up from my seat. So there wouldn’t have being anybody to but somehow she got falsehood sold to the saharareporters. Nobody amongst those of us who spoke there actually talked about impeachment. Infact the issue of the presidency or president was not the subject matter we were discussing on how the senate can also come together and solve the forgery case. There wouldn’t have being any need to even discuss about Buhari or the Presidency but because of deliberate wickedness and satanic manifestations they brought in the issue of presidency to garnish their aim and purpose. Today, I read on the pages of newspaper that in Nation to be very precise that senator Borrofice calling me names. Unfortunately, this expatriate senator, absentee senator called senator Borrofice was not even in the Chamber and he has not being in the chamber for the past two months. He was not in the chamber, I was surprised maybe he has celestial powers to understand what happens in his absence. For him to open his gutter and pass insolent languages on me. I have never being a coward and I will never be, I fight my battles alone and I stand by it and there is nothing I say anywhere that I cannot repeat everywhere. If there are instances that I am not a super human being, if there are instances where as a human being I have reacted negatively I am also ready to be apologetic about it. But in this particular instance, I have never mentioned anybody’s name, I never even used insolent languages but because they are here to heal from the wound of defeat of the election of the senate president and because of my key role in this exercise where she and her husband called me severally to appeal to me to backoff Saraki and I say I will not backoff Saraki, I will continue to support Saraki, Saraki is my brother, he is my friend and I will continue to support him and this will not change today, it will not change tomorrow, it will not change in this four years of our stay in the Senate. Every human being can have ambition, it is not a crime to be ambitious. saraki had the ambition of becoming a Senate president and God endorsed it, president Muhammadu Buhari is an ambitious person that is why he contested for the presidency four times before God answered him. I am an ambitious person, I event want to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria very soon. So it is not a crime to be ambitious. So if you go through the papers today there has been a lot of misinformation, a lot of lies, a lot of blackmail, planted stories just to discourage the person and personality of Dino Melaye but I want to assure everyone that I remain resolute in my compaternal convictions, I will continue to stand by the truth, I will continue to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, I will continue to be a voice to the voiceless and in reaction I heard that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu said my political career has come to an end. I want to say that Tinubu is no God. I fear only the God almighty, I fear no soul I only respect souls. So far my political journey to the House of Representatives and the Senate have no political, financial or moral contribution of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the God who has brought me this far is mighty, strong and enough to take me further, what God has given me no man can give and what God has given to me no man can take. I want to assure you that this is the true story of what transpired. It is falacious, malicious and a lie that I said I will impregnate Mrs Tinubu. Biologically it is even impossible to impregnate Mrs Tinubu because she has arrived menopause. If you also look at that statement for those of us who are intellectually mobile, how can you say you want to beat somebody and at the same time you want to impregnate the person if you juxtapose the two is there any correlation, does it make any logical sense. So, when they planted this falsehood they did not think deeply. I want to say that I will continue to uphold the culture the tradition, the values of the Kogi West Senatorial district and I will not abuse it. But it is absurd for a woman to look for her colleague and call him a thug and a dog when he has not personally addressed you. unfortunately I did not have the anointing to be quite when you are being insulted I replied accordingly. I repeat there is no reaction without an action. If she did not call me a dog or a thug there is no way I would have responded. I responded I have no regrets for responding and defending my person and if tomorrow or in the next 1hour, Senator Tinubu again called me any name I shall equally respond accordingly.
